Location: Sacramento, CA

A well-established union construction subcontractor is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting, payroll, and financial operations. This position works closely with company leadership and manages the full accounting function in a stable, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close
• Prepare financial statements and reporting
• Oversee general ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash flow
• Coordinate year-end activities with external CPA
• Process union and certified payroll
• Manage payroll taxes, benefits administration, and employee onboarding
• Oversee construction billing, progress billings, and retention tracking
• Handle collections, lien management, and accounts receivable activities
• Prepare WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports
• Support contract accounting and job costing

What We're Looking For

• Construction accounting experience required
• Union payroll and certified payroll experience required
• Sage 300 experience required
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Job costing
  • Construction billing
  • Accounts receivable and collections
  • Financial reporting
• Accounting degree preferred or equivalent experience
